Psittaciformes

Eupsittula

A genus of South and Middle American parakeets in the tribe Arini.

Until 2013, all the species were believed to belong to the genus Aratinga. Some of the Eupsittula species are kept in aviculture or as companion parrots, where they are commonly known as conures.

There are 5 main species, and according to some estimates, 16 subspecies.

The population has decreased in many areas due to collection for the pet trade.

The Peach Fronted, and the Orange Fronted are easy to confuse. The major difference is the beak and nails. On the Orange Fronted, they are light, and on the Peach Fronted they are dark.
