Common Name List

It's difficult to search for birds through all the various scientific names. This page groups some of the most common types of birds together so you can look at them directly.

Species are classified by the IUCN Red List into seven groups set through criteria such as rate of decline, population size, area of geographic distribution, and degree of population and distribution fragmentation. Two additional groups may appear. They are DD - Data Deficient, and NE - Not Evaluated.
